Skill Work Makes The Dream Work!
What is JMP?
Optional and Supplemental Skill Training for Student-Athletes provided in a positive and supportive learning environment. The learning experience is deliberate, intentional, mindful, and creative.
What does J-M-P stand for?
Ask me when you come to one of my training sessions. I'm always looking for student-athletes to join my daughter's training sessions.😀
When does the session schedule come out?
Typically when my daughter doesn't have school and club practices and games, we have JMP sessions. Register and I'll notify you on our next schedule JMP session.
How long is each session? ⏳
If our schedule permits, we meet every Saturday and Sunday usually 2 hours and at least once on a weekday 1.50 hours per practice. We have 6-8 practices in one thematic session. View schedule.
How many players do have in a training session?
Typically 8-10 players per training session. The smaller the group, the more opportunity to rep out specific skills and movement.
What do you cover in your training sessions? 👣
Everything! But to narrow it down, I implement and emphasize a variety of footwork fundamentals, balance, body control, rhythm, and movement preparation. View training format.
Do you have pick up games and unstructured play?
Yes. If we have enough players, we have SSG (Small Sided Games) and Pick Up Games (PUG) View training type. However, during ILH season for JV (Oct-Dec), skill development or on-air is the training format and contact play will be on pause.
Is you training session progressive and builds upon another skill? Will this affect my child's learning outcome if they miss a day or two? 😺
While I keep my training session progressive, I do keep it flexible as well. Every player learns at a different pace and skill acquisition is non-linear. Skills will need to be reviewed and repeated multiple times through different opportunities and constraints. Any skills learned in JMP is a building block for future skill movement and acquisition. So the short answer, drop in anytime.
Where do you have your training sessions? 🗺️
Normally held at Mililani public courts. Wet weather normally cancels our practice. View current locations.
Will you have your training in town or near town area? 🚙
Maybe. If there's enough interest and if we find an optimum location (dry, open, not busy court, lights) then maybe we can have it town or near town.
Are you affiliated with any boys or girls club team?
No. This is a currently a community project to explore the blueprint of teaching and learning basketball skill acquisition.
How much does it cost?
Free 99! No cost, high value training. 💯
